4 Simple Remedies for Longer and Stronger Hair
Thick and healthy hair is the dream of most women. There are many factors that contribute to your hair quality and the most common include diet, stress, illnesses and genetics. Although there are plenty of hair care products, all of them contain chemicals that are harmful to your scalp if used for long. Here are some remedies that anyone can make at home to nourish hair follicles and stimulate hair growth.
1. Egg White
Egg whites are abundant in protein, zinc, sulfur, iron, phosphorus and iodine, which makes it one of the most beneficial hair masks for thick and healthy hair. Nutrients in the egg white will help nourish hair follicles, recover damaged hair, and stimulate hair growth.
You just need two egg whites, rub it onto your scalp and leave it there for 15 minutes before washing your hair carefully with shampoo. With this remedy, you just need to do it once per week.
2. Egg, Honey and Olive Oil
Honey is rich in antioxidants and nutrients which are necessary for hair growth. You just need to mix honey, olive oil (1 teaspoon), and one egg white in a bowl. Stir the mixture well and then rub it onto your scalp for 20 minutes.
Garlic contains allicin, a natural substance that can improve blood flow to the scalp, get rid of any bacteria or fungi living on the scalp and hair, and give life to damaged follicles. Many times, hair loss can be due to unknown bacteria or fungi present on the scalp and garlic can kill those bacteria, which stops them from wreaking havoc on your hair. By increasing blood flow to the scalp, lifeless, damaged hair is rejuvenated by garlic and it’s active ingredient, allicin.
You just need to crush 7 – 8 garlic cloves and boil it with 500ml water, 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When it cools down, apply it on your hair and scalp. While doing it, massage your scalp gently to stimulate hair follicles. Do it regularly twice per week to get the results you expect.
4. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice has bleaching properties and the citric acid in it, combined with sunlight, will naturally lighten the hair. The medicinal properties of lemon juice in relation to hair and scalp issues, especially oily hair and scalp, have been confirmed by many studies. This citrus fruit is abundant in nutrients including vitamin C, the whole range of B vitamins, antioxidants and folic acid, which makes it a powerful natural remedy for hair growth.
You just need to use 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to mix with 2 teaspoons of coconut oil, stir it and then apply it evenly on your hair and scalp. Leave it there for one hour, then wash your hair with mild shampoo. Do it twice per week in 1 month, you will see your expected results.
However, notes for those who use the above remedies, you need to avoid strong chemical shampoos. You should choose mild ones such as baby-friendly shampoos to protect your scalp and hair roots.
